Castleridge Trail Hike
Right here, in our own backyard, is one of the most beautiful hikes around. With the recent wet weather, it’s amazingly green up there. Join us on Feb 26 as we get back out on the trail.
Please note that this HIKE IS REALLY STEEP! It is a 4-mile, out-and-back hike. We will climb up 1,000 feet in the first two miles. This is not an easy hike and it is not recommended for younger Cubs.
Also note that parking might be limited, so try and carpool if possible.

On 9/11, our Cubs gave back to the community by participating in a cleanup project at Coyote Hills Regional Park. In addition to pulling out five giant bags of invasive species, the Cubs found water bottles, candy wrappers, four hats, sunglasses, and a fishing pole – all of which were polluting the marshes at the park.

Pack 916 Family Camp
We had a good set of fun activities – a hike with an amazing view, two telescopes looking at the craters of the moon, the moons of Jupiter, and the rings of Saturn, camp cuisine from Chip’s famous camp kitchen, a campfire (real, actual fire!) with skits and a flag retirement ceremony, and we even had a band of coyotes howling for us as we were getting ready for bed. A good time was had!
The lockdown didn’t stop us from enjoying one of the time-honored traditions of Cub Scouting! Just as with everything else, we made it virtual and we had a good time! The Cubs built some amazing cars, and the leaders had a great time pretending to be YouTube stars.
