What is Cub Scouts Video

As a Cub Scout, your child will gain valuable skills, learn important lessons, and experience the world around…all while having incredible fun and making friends. Scouting is often described as “fun with a purpose” and that’s what we aim to deliver at Pack 916.  All the fun, however, is not reserved only for your child.  Cub Scouting is a family activity and you’ll have just as much fun – if not more – as your Scout!

The aim of Cub Scouting is to get children started on a path to becoming strong leaders, responsible citizens, and adults of good character.  Based largely on the characters from Rudyard Kiplings classic The Jungle Book, the Cub Scout program gives families a fun-filled environment to explore and learn important values as we follow the guidance of Akela.

Through the various parades and community activities in which we participate your Scout will learn how to stay involved in our community.  By building and racing Pinewood Derby car, your Scout will gain self-confidence and take pride in a job well done.  While fulfilling requirements for rank badges and his belt loops your Scout is exposed to a wide variety of activities and skills.

These words – rank badge, belt loops, Akela – may sound unfamiliar, but don’t worry! You’ll have just as much fun getting introduced to the Scouting program as your Scout. We have fantastic leaders in the Pack and we’re ready to welcome you to our program!
